The 2020 European Advanced Educational Technology Conference (EAET 2020) was scheduled to take place from March 27 to 29, 2020, at Imperial College London, UK. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held online.
EAET 2020 aimed to provide scholars, researchers, students, and administrators with an opportunity to discuss innovative ideas and developments in educational technology. The conference covered topics such as instructional design, learning and technology, teaching and technology, distance education, e-learning, teacher training, lifelong learning, and new approaches in educational technology.
Keynote speakers included Prof. Adrian Hopgood from the University of Portsmouth, UK; Shuliang Li, Life Fellow of the British Computer Society and Reader at the University of Westminster, UK; Prof. Joanne Roberts from the University of Southampton, UK; Prof. Michael Pace from Texas A&M University, USA; Dr. Yu-Wang Chen from the University of Manchester, UK; and Dr. Haiming Liu from the University of Bedfordshire, UK.
The conference was technically sponsored by the University of Westminster, Southwest Jiaotong University, the International Journal of Learning and Teaching (IJLT), and the International Journal of Information and Education Technology (IJIET). Selected papers were recommended for publication in these journals.
Despite the shift to an online format, EAET 2020 facilitated meaningful academic discussions and exchanges among participants.
